Winthrop

Follow the North Cascades highway to the only 4-way stop in the Methow Valley. You’ve just hit the center of Winthrop.  Winthrop is a small community, population 1147, bursting with western themes, cowboys and a fascinating history.  Guy Waring, an enterprising entrepreneur from Boston, founded Winthrop in 1891.  The community has changed a lot since then with an eclectic grouping of shops, restaurants, and galleries.

The gathering places include the School House Pub, Lost River Winery, Arrowleaf Bistro, the Valley Hub, Boulder Creek Deli, the Grubstake and the Rocking Horse Bakery to name a few.

Many folks gravitate to Winthrop to be closer to amenities and stroll the boardwalk.

Winthrop housing communities include Studhorse, North Village, Pine Forest, Edelweiss, Liberty Woodlands, Cottonwood Meadow, Twin Lakes, Rodeo Trails and Wolf Creek.
